Arctisoft Studio · Professional Media Software

Instruments for sound, built to last.

Desktop software for people who work with audio and media. Each application takes one discipline as far as the work requires: processing, analysis, metadata, acquisition.

The House

One studio. Five disciplines. Nothing rented.

Arctisoft Studio is an Austrian software studio. We make native Windows applications for the work that surrounds a recording: bringing material in, putting its metadata in order, shaping its sound and proving that the result is what it should be.

The applications are deep rather than broad. WaveShaper carries a signal from its first correction to the final limiter. Sonaris reads forty-three formats and checks a master against published delivery standards. MetaEdit Plus reviews every change before a file is touched. Medio reaches 8K and encodes on the graphics processor. Each is documented release by release, and each can be used without payment.

Four instruments, and a fifth in the workshop

Each is complete in itself. Together they cover the passage of a recording from source to verified master.

WaveShaper, the equaliser

WaveShaper

Audio Processing Studio

WaveShaper brings equalisation, effects, dynamics and mastering into one considered signal chain. Each stage has its own workspace, so a decision made at the equaliser remains legible when you reach the limiter.

  • The Equaliser. 32, 64, 125, 250 and 500 Hz, then 1, 2, 4, 8 and 16 kHz, each with a Q factor from 0.1 to 10.
  • Presets. Twenty-four genre presets, eleven utility presets and nine specialised presets.
  • Effects. Five algorithms including phase vocoder and harmonic-percussive separation.
  • Dynamics. Ratio from 1:1 to 20:1, threshold to −60 dB, attack from 1 to 500 ms, makeup gain to 24 dB and a parallel mix.

Sonaris

Audio Quality Analyzer

Sonaris scans and grades music libraries, production archives, masters and distribution catalogues. It measures the true frequency content of each track, compares it with what the codec and bit rate should deliver, and assigns a grade from S to F.

  • Quality Grading. The grade reflects the highest frequency at which meaningful content is present, found by filtering the audio through progressively higher bands.
  • Mastering Assessment. Independently of the frequency grade, each track is assessed on its loudness and dynamics: integrated loudness to EBU R 128, loudness range, dynamic range and true-peak headroom.
  • Signal Integrity. Flags lossy audio stored in a lossless container by comparing the measured cutoff with what the codec and bit rate should deliver.
  • Delivery Check. Choose a profile, choose a file, run the check.

MetaEdit Plus editor
MetaEdit Plus, the editor

MetaEdit Plus

Advanced Tag Editor

MetaEdit Plus is a metadata workstation for audio and video collections. It combines direct field editing with reviewed batch operations, complete artwork collections, filename automation, provider-assisted identification, library analysis, lyrics, chapters, loudness measurement and guarded automation.

  • Editing. Shared values across the checked files, or a separate staged state for each.
  • Review Before Write. Editor values, artwork, provider choices, lyrics, ReplayGain, rules and imports all pass through one review.
  • Identification. Auto Tag identifies a single recording by its acoustic fingerprint, or maps the files of an album to the tracks of a chosen release.
  • Text, Patterns and Rules. Literal or regular-expression replacement, whole-word matching, prefixes and suffixes, case conversion and whitespace normalisation.

Medio

Universal Downloader

Medio downloads video, extracts audio and converts both, with a queue for the work that comes in batches. It is built on two respected open-source tools, yt-dlp and FFmpeg, and gives them a considered Windows interface, synchronised settings and a processing pipeline.

  • Acquisition. Nine resolutions from 144p to 4320p.
  • Queue, Playlists and Automation. Up to 5 queued downloads in Basic and up to 50 in Premium.
  • Encoding. H.264 in Basic.
  • Audio Processing. Each adjustable from 0.25× to 2×.

MixForge

MixForge is a digital audio workstation for recording, arranging and mixing, designed to sit alongside WaveShaper, Sonaris and MetaEdit Plus: the place where a piece of music is made before the rest of the collection finishes, verifies and catalogues it.

The Passage

From source to verified master

The applications are independent, and they are made to follow one another.

  1. Acquire

Material enters the library in the resolution, format and codec the work calls for.

    Medio
  2. Catalogue

Names, credits, artwork and chapters are brought to one standard, and every change is reviewed.

    MetaEdit Plus
  3. Shape

Tone, dynamics and loudness are set through one signal chain and exported for delivery.

    WaveShaper
  4. Verify

The result is measured against its specification and documented with evidence.

Software you buy once and keep

A perpetual license

A paid edition is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription and no credit system for work done on your own computer.

Free editions that work

Every released application can be used without payment. Paid editions extend what a product does; they do not unlock a trial.

Up to three computers

One license is yours to use on up to three computers at the same time, with updates included within the current major version.

The full terms are set out in the License Agreement. Prices and editions are listed under Pricing.

The Register

Current versions

Each application is released on its own schedule and documented release by release. The full record is kept in the release journal.

Questions

Before you begin

Is the software really free to use?

Yes. Sonaris and MetaEdit Plus are freeware, and WaveShaper and Medio each have a free Basic edition. A Premium edition extends what a product does; it is not the end of a trial.

What do I pay for a Premium edition?

A single price, once. The license is perpetual, includes updates within the current major version and can be active on up to five of your computers.

Do I need an account?

Not to begin. Studio Hub installs the free editions in guest mode. An account holds your licenses and purchases and carries your preferences between computers.

Which systems are supported?

Windows 10 and Windows 11, 64-bit. Each application lists its own requirements.

Where is my audio processed?

On your computer. The applications work on your own files; media is not uploaded to Arctisoft.

Begin with Studio Hub

Install the Hub, choose the applications your work calls for, and create an account when you want your licenses to follow you.
